We look back on a very successful Kurtág Festival 2018! Between 16 and 18 November, nearly 100 participants followed lessons and masterclasses by guest teachers Géza and Csaba Szilvay (Colourstrings), Árpád Tóth and László Nemes (Muziek als Vak). We also enjoyed two very special evenings on Friday (interview with Reinbert de Leeuw about Kurtág’s music) and Saturday (chamber music by Kurtág and Ligeti played by musicians of Asko|Schönberg and conservatoire students).
The next Masterclass Weekend is not far away: on April 13 and 14 april 2019 we once again focus on primary school music education.
The first upcoming activity is even sooner: on Friday Feb 8, Muziek als Vak organises a free Kodály workshop day! Together with the Liszt Academy in Budapest and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland we present the Kodály Hub. This online teaching tool – a database with teaching materials, repertoire, songs & games and background informations – is the outcome of an Erasmus+ project. Guest teachers Lucinda Geoghegan and László Nemes will be there as well as our regular Dutch teaching staff!
