Jaap Zwart studied piano, organ and music theory at the Sweelinck Conservatoire of Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. He worked as a music teacher at the Beiaardschool in Amersfoort and as a music theory teacher at the Conservatoire of Utrecht. Currently, Jaap teaches music theory, improvisation and music analysis at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam. He is also active as a church organ player and conductor. In the Muziek als Vak Masterclass-weekends he teaches workshops in vocal harmony and improvisation.
